atmospheric, process, medical, specialty gases is seeking a Lab /
Plant Technician to join our team located in Houston, TXThe Lab /
Plant Technician will be accountable for filling, conducting tests
and preparing documentation on specialty gas cylinder mixtures and
pure gases. Duties also include maintenance of plant equipment such
as pumps, valves, and gauges. Under general supervision, the Lab /
Plant Technician conducts technical tasks in plant, field or lab
and provides basic technical assistance in areas such as gas

hour depending on industry experience. Shift Differential: $1.00
per hour 2nd Shift Differential. What you will be doing (2nd Shift)
- Performs analysis of pure and mixed gases by GC, NDIR,
electrochemical and other instruments to ensure that customer and
regulatory requirements are met.
- Generates certificates of analysis and labels for pure products
and mixtures.
- Runs mixture calculations, prepares and fills compressed gas
cylinders to prescribed specifications with NIST traceability,
using high-pressure pumps and compressors.
- Calibrates analytical and plant equipment to required standards
and maintains records.
- Performs maintenance and troubleshooting on instruments,
scales, gauges, pumps, etc.
- Assists with the evaluation of medical gases for FDA compliance
before releasing for delivery to customers.
- Ensures lab areas are maintained in a neat, clean and orderly
condition.
- Maintains records both via hard copies and electronically.
- Interacts effectively with other work groups.
- Coordinates product orders, maintains stock levels, purchases
technical supplies.
- Utilizes or adapts standard methods of procedure.Other duties
as assigned.What makes you great:
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
- Associates Degree preferred.
- 2+ years experience working in industrial / lab
environment.
- Must have demonstrated ability to calculate product composition
and tolerances from analytical data.
- May require occasional travel.
- Ability to routinely move compressed gas cylinders weighing 150
lbs. or more. Regularly required to stand and work in hot or cold
