Role Summary: The Collision Technical Development Specialist
will be responsible for training existing Penske Collision
Technicians in the field across the United States at Penske
Collision Repair Centers. Teaching key collision repair processes,
tool usage, materials knowledge, and proper application. Safety
will be an important building block in the training Process.
Additionally, they will be responsible for delivering high-quality
training to new hire Tech 3 students interested in pursuing a
career in box and trailer collision repair. They will play a
crucial role in equipping students with the necessary knowledge,
skills, and techniques to excel in the field. The instructor will
create engaging and practical learning experiences, maintain
training equipment, and assess student performance to ensure a
successful learning outcome. Major Responsibilities: Develop and
deliver comprehensive collision training programs for box and
trailer repair, covering topics such as structural repair,
electrical systems, and welding techniques. Create engaging and
interactive lesson plans, incorporating a mix of theoretical
knowledge, hands-on exercises, and real-world scenarios for
collision repairs. Utilize instructional techniques, visual aids,
and multimedia resources to enhance student understanding and
engagement of collision repair processes. Maintain and update
training materials, including manuals, presentations, and
demonstration videos, to align with industry standards and emerging
technologies. Conduct practical training sessions in a workshop
setting, demonstrating collision repair techniques and guiding
students through hands-on exercises. Assess student performance
through practical evaluations, project-based assignments, providing
constructive feedback for improvement. Provide individualized
support and mentorship to students, addressing their learning needs
and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Stay
abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best
practices in box and trailer collision repair, incorporating them
into training curriculum and methodologies. Collaborate with the
Collision Training Manager to continuously improve the training
program, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing
necessary changes. Ensure the proper maintenance and safety of
training equipment, tools, and workshop areas, adhering to
established guidelines and regulations. Required Skills and
Qualifications: Must be based in the South-Central region of the
United States to minimize travel requirements. Extensive experience
in box and trailer collision repair, with a deep understanding of
industry standards and repair techniques. Proven expertise in
electrical systems, structural repair, brake systems, and welding
within the box and trailer repair field. Strong instructional
abilities, with the capability to effectively communicate complex
concepts and procedures to students. Prior experience as a trainer
or instructor, preferably in a vocational or technical education
setting a plus. Excellent practical skills in box and trailer
collision repair, including the use of various tools, equipment,
and diagnostic instruments. Strong organizational and time
management skills, with the ability to plan and deliver training
sessions effectively. Patience and empathy in working with students
of varying skill levels and backgrounds, providing guidance and
support as needed. Ability to assess student performance
objectively, provide constructive feedback, and track progress over
time. Proficiency in using instructional technology and learning
management systems to enhance training delivery. Dedication to
maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment, promoting
adherence to safety protocols, and fostering diversity and
inclusion among students. Physical Requirements: The physical and
